Vinton American Legion to hold Fish Fry Friday, May 13

The American Legion George G. Luckey Post 57, will hold a fish fry this Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. The Legion is located at 105 N R Ave. The menu includes: Fish Fillet, baked potato, cole slaw, baked beans and dessert.Cost is $12.. for those13 and older, ages 5-12 $5.00 and under 5 eat free. 

Bingo fun at the VFW

The VFW Post #8884 will hold Bingo games two times during the month. The first will be on the 2nd Saturday from Noon until 3:00 p.m. (be sure to come early and enjoy breakfast from 7-11:00 a.m.)The 3rd Sunday of each month the game will be played from 2-5:00 p.m.The VFW Post and Auxiliary is located at 5999 25th Ave. Trail in Vinton.

Center Point Friends of Library Book Sale June 9,10,11

You can indulge your inner intellectual without injuring your income at the Friends of the Center Point Library annual Used Book Sale, this year to be held during Center Point Garage Sale days.Hardcovers are $1 (coffee table books, classics, and all,) paperbacks are 50 cents, and children’s books of any kind are 25 cents. There will also be audio books and movies and who-knows-what-else--possibly cake pans and plants, puzzles and computers, never kittens or puppies, alas.

Unity Project Celebration at Vinton Public Library

Saturday, May 14, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.Participate in an interactive, larger-than-life art project that demonstrates the uniqueness and similarities of those in our community! The project will remain up for 2 weeks for visitors to view and add to. 

V-S FFA Plant Sale April 29-30 and May 6-7

Vinton-Shellsburg High School Plant Sales is having their Annual Plant Sale at the school Greenhouse located near the back parking lot. The dates of the sale are April 29th 3:30-6:30 P.M., April 30th 9:00 A.M.-12.00 P.M., May 6th 3:30-6:30 P.M., May 7th 9:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. Plants include a variety of Annual Flowers, Vegetables, and Herbs. Greenhouse Management and other Agriculture students are eager to help you find the plants you want to beautify your home.

Wesley United Methodist Rummage Sale Friday, May 6

Wesley United Methodist will be holding their rummage sale on Friday, May 6th from 8:30 to 3 and Saturday, the 7th from 9-11.  We are located at  516 2nd Ave in Vinton. There will be lots of household items, baked goods, fabric, clothes, china, candlewick glass, toys, books, etc. It’s freewill donation with the money going to support our mission projects.

Flea Market and Craft Fair Friday June 10 & 11
